Pioneering a new sound, Jude Bowerman covers a wide terrain of musical styles blending the rhythms of old school funk, blues, hip-hop, house and classic soul. He captivates audiences with his charismatic singing and dynamicly interactive playing.
Jude's live performances are high energy and uplifting, with non-stop infectious grooves punctuated by a distictly original tone and firey guitar playing. His influences and abilities are seemingly endless and his energy to share and perform is equally as deep.
A testament to this is the talent he and his award winning band have shared the stage with: Johnny Winter, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, George Thorogood, Ronnie Earl, Coco Montoya, Sista Monica; the list goes on. Jude was awarded the prestigious Summy Award for Best Bluesman and also given accolades by the Seattle Post-Intelligencer as the "Best Entertainment at Bumbershoot."
"A definite must-see" Jude Bowerman has his hands grasped firmly on the pulse of music scene.
Jude has taken a major leap in style and ability over the past year. He spent a solid 5 years playing Texas and Chicago style blues, mixed up with some James Brown funk, all along the I-5 corridor from Vancouver, B.C. to SanFrancisco, CA.
Jude then took a year off to work on more soul-influenced R&B and acid jazz. The result is a more mature and individual sound, the lyrics drawing from his experiences and his view of life; the music a funky swank drawing from both the older funk and soul sounds, combined with his taste for high energy blues and a love of the new acid jazz and soul groove movement.
Still known to jump off stage to sit in some unsuspecting woman's lap wrapping his guitar around her -- or take a stroll down any bar he can find, Jude hasn't lost any of the high energy in-your-face antics he learned from watching Buddy Guy and Albert Collins. It's a show that has lovers of all types of music entertained, even if its just to watch Jude playing with the audience as much as with his guitar.
