Mood Swings, composed of vocalists Jill Fetty, Omak; CaraMia Vance, Omak, and Judy Johnston, Brewster, and pianist Richard Gregory, Omak, perform jazz music reminiscent of the Andrews Sisters.
The group specializes in music made popular during the Big Band era, including favorites from Gershwin and Berlin to Glenn Miller.
Joining them for the night will be Johnston's husband, Greg Johnston, who will add rhythm on the drums.
Fetty has performed as a soloist with choirs and on stage in various roles and excels in melodic, lyrical voicings, said the group's announcement. She is a children's choir director and a solo artist with extensive musical background.
Vance has experience with group choruses and choirs, and brings her love of traditional jazz to the group.
Johnston has been lead singer with various groups, singing country and blues as well as her favorite, classic jazz. She developed her jazz style with pianist Bill Brewster in the jazz trio, Corner Pocket, and has also performed on stage in musical theater.
Gregory has vast experience at the piano and brings his passion for early jazz to the enterprise.
Music in the group's repertoire includes "Chattanooga Choo Choo," "Accentuate the Positive," "In the Mood" and the hot swing Louis Prima tune, "Jump, Jive and Wail."
The group also offers soulful ballads reminiscent of Billie Holliday.
"Their song list is like a walk down memory lane into the first half of the 20th century," said the group's announcement. "They have even chosen several pop tunes from the '50s that bring back that hopeful, prosperous time."
