With an eclectic mix of folk-rock and modern indie-pop/rock, Michael Carlos and his Wenatchee-based band were voted North Central Washington's Favorite Musician/Band of 2005 in a Wenatchee World Readers' Poll.
In a regional "Battle of the Bands" held at Tost (Seattle) this past fall, the MCB took second only to a polished ensemble from Portland proving that, despite some small-town roots, the band measures up to Seattle's high standards.
This year is a transition year in which Carlos and the band will be road-testing new material before going into the studio to begin work Carlos' second album.
Michael Carlos was recently praised as a reincarnation of Warren Zevon (minus the chemical self-destructiveness) for his brutally observant perspective reflected in his songwriting. Not your usual acoustic-based rock show, the Michael Carlos Band is energetic enough to be at home on outdoor festival stages, while balancing the heavy-duty folk-rock with more introspective ballads.
In between, you'll find witty takes on insipid reality TV shows, corporate criminals, and other icons of pop culture. Expect something different!
Omak favorite Paul Mannino will open the show with the accompaniment of Michael Carlos Band members John Weeks and Bradly Scott.
