The Associated Students of Wenatchee Valley College at Omak will sponsor a Valentine sweetheart evening with guitarists Eric E and Kristin Connell at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Breadline Cafe, Omak.
Using only his guitar, his tenor voice and a state-of-the-art sound system, Eric E provides an "unplugged" sound at his performances, said a WVC announcement.
"His music touches many styles, including blues, jazz and country hits, and he has the ability to perform at request a Top 40 song from any year between the 1920s and 1990s," said the announcement.
Eric E has performed full time since 1986 and has toured 49 states and 17 countries, including Holland, Denmark, Poland and Japan. He now focuses on performing at colleges and churches in the United States.
He has released five albums, "Back in the Day," "Lead Me to Life," "Taste and See," "A Matter of Time," and "Because He Lives."
He also has opened for Jay Leno, Air Supply, Dan Seals and others.
Singer-songwriter Kristin Connell was born in Tacoma and began writing songs at a young age. She began playing guitar in high school and now performs regularly at pubs, coffee houses, festivals, fairs, wineries and theaters, the announcement said.
Connell teamed up with musician and producer Jonathan Kingham for her debut album, "Second Chances," which reveals her influences, from contemporary folk to Americana.
Admission to the event is $5 for the general public, and free to WVC students with current WVC ID cards.
