A May 18 fund-raiser for Animal Foster Care will feature artworks by T. Lewis and Omak-Okanogan high school students, along with the opportunity to see a sneak preview of the "Over the Hedge" movie.
Lewis, who lives in Omak, draws the "Over the Hedge" comic strip on which the movie is based.
The event is planned for 5-9:30 p.m. Thursday, May 18, at the Breadline Cafe.
Lewis will sign his new collection of works. Animal-inspired artworks by Lewis, students and adults will be available for sale, according to Paula Chambers, owner of the Breadline.
Proceeds go to Animal Foster Care, which operates a shelter for abandoned cats and dogs.
The sneak preview of "Over the Hedge" will be at 6:30 p.m. at the Omak Theater. National release for the film is May 19.
There will be no charge to attend the Breadline event, although donations for Animal Foster Care will be accepted and people may order food from the menu, according to Chambers. Those attending the movie will pay the theater's regular admission, she added.
